  1. Great protection for up to 3 computers for 2 years. Have used this software for couple of years already without any problems. Worth every penny.

  2. Through the years I have used Norton, McAfee and Kaspersky. None of them have impressed me with how well they did. About a month ago I decided to try AVG and am impressed. It runs behind the scene and doesn’t slow my computer down. It has detected several trojan and other viruses and isolated them. It has made a big difference in the computer used by my 13 year old. Her computer is much faster since AVG has gotten rid of the many virses that infected hers. By the way, that computer had an up to date version of McAfee before we installed AVG. This is a great product.

  3. In past years I have used 3 other top name security products for my computer. They were McAfee, Norton and CA internet security products. Of those 3 Norton and CA were the most useful although complicated to set up. They also drastically slowed down my computer.Near the end of my subscription with CA I wondered if it was even working at all. None of them are even in the same classification as the AVG Internet Security product which does NOT slow down your computer. AVG completely surpasses all three of the previously used products in performance, ease of use and compatibility with my older model computer from 2002.The installation was a snap basically because of its easy to understand instructions. The software actually does what the package says it will do.

AVG Internet Security is slightly more expensive than some other products on the market today but well worth the money especially if you find it on sale from Amazon where the price is nicely competitive. Also, having a 2 year subscription on board up front saves money and hassle for TWO whole years! This is actually cheaper than purchasing for 1 year and then renewing for the 2nd year. In addition, the version I bought will support 3 users which really didn’t cost me anything extra. I recommend AVG to anyone who really wants something that is easy and completely effective without slowing down their computer.

  4. I got a nasty computer virus. I had PC Tools Internet Security installed at the time. Unfortunately, PC tools had no idea I had a virus, much less the ability to fix it.

I had used Norton and McAfee in the past, and hated them, so I started doing asking my computer-geek friends which virus protection they used, and most of them answered AVG. Well, my friends may be nerds, but they’re darn smart nerds, so I trust their advise when it comes to computers.

I installed AVG, and sure enough, it found the virus that I was aware of, and about 3 more that I had no idea I had. So, I’m happy with the performance.

Also, it doesn’t seem to choke up my system nearly as much as the 3 previously mentioned virus protection software did. I absolutely could not run any serious games when any of those 3 were on. So I’m happy with that.

BUT… (and it’s me, so you had to know there was a but coming, right?) I run some weird programs on my computer. Since installing AVG, it won’t let me run these programs… no option for me to tell it to allow this program to run… just… a great big fat error message from the program. Like the Sony station launcher, or the facebook chat… both worked great before I installed AVG. Suddenly, neither work.

And that brings me to the one very major flaw. I can’t figure out how to temporarily disable this program, or turn it off. When you right-click on the tray icon, the options are “open AVG user interface” and “update now.” Opening the Interface doesn’t show a nice easy way to just turn the blasted thing off for a few minutes, while I’m doing something that AVG hates.

So… while I’m happy to have found a virus protection that actually does its job, without completely choking up my system… I will still be searching for a new one, unless AVG gives me an easy way to temporarily disable it.

  5. I always use AVG and this product is as good as all the rest. Had to reload it a couple of times because I did not delete what I had installed before it. Works great!
