This game is not worth the $20 you pay for it. The performance of many of the aircraft is extremely bad. Take the Stealth Bomber, for instance. It floats like a zeppelin. I literally took off on fifty feet of runway with the B2 and I couldn’t get it to stay on the ground when I landed it. The L2 Bird Dog is missing its sound file, so you fly in complete silence. The virtual cockpits are so zoomed in that you can’t see any of the instruments, and if you manually zoom out then the instruments are too small to read. There are some good aircraft in this package- the Talon, Hawkeye, and Hellcat are all pretty fun to fly. The main problem is that some of the aircraft are essentially broken. In hindsight, I would not have paid more than $9.99 for this game, but as of the date of this review, the lowest price on Amazon is $16.27.

CC2 is, for the $10 I paid, a steal. That’s less than a dollar per plane, and each plane is far better than any freeware out there. I’ll make this as simple as possible by listing the pros and cons:
“PROS:”
The price
Easy and quick to load
Aircraft exteriors are stunningly accurate; real “eye-candy!”
All are a blast to fly
“CONS:”
Flight models can be a bit rough. To me, the T-38 is the most accurate and fun
Helicopter flight models are abysmal
Some gauges and textures missing – this will vary with operating system, versions of FSX service packs installed, and DirectX version
I wanted some combat aircraft for FSX, and I didn’t want freeware with viruses and excruciating install procedures. Combat Collectors 2nd Edition delivered. Would definitely recommend it.
